A look at how the draft went in general as well as how our Colt's did specifically. The new era of Colt's football has begun and we want to know what you think. Are you happy with the picks? Can Luck live up to the hype? How far away is this team from where it was for the last decade? What are you looking forward to?
Join us Monday evening and we will start to figure it all out.

This Sunday's Show

The NFL draft is less than a week away and the future direction of this Colt's franchise will become a little more clear after the picks come in; the Grigson/Pagano era begins...

This will be the most intriguing, important off season stretch for this organization in quite a few years...it will impact the future of this team for years to come...
Relevant guests, open phone lines, fairly intelligent conversation...Sundays at noon on 1070thefan.

One of the Many Down Sides

There's not too much to get excited about-the year is a wash...it's that simple. The worst part is all of the valuable time being missed by Castonzo, Ijalana, Nevis. Hopefully Castonzo and Nevis get back before too long. Ijalana will be like a rookie again. The experience gained by them this year would have been a slight glimmer of light in a pretty dark season.
Who knows what to expect today. The Colts could win...or get their butts kicked by a team that still is in the AFC South race. We will find out soon enough and we will talk about it objectively tonight at 7. Sometimes football brings you no joy whatsoever...

Week Six-No Worries, No pressure...No Expectations...

A different kind of season, that's for sure. Can they win, will they win, will they give up the lead down the stretch? Seems to be a pattern here. Watch and hope that Painter continues to improve, see what Donald Brown can offer, wonder if the effort will continue to be there as the season quietly slips away. Play Rucker and Thomas, Lefeged and Caldwell. They don't have a choice anyway, with all the injuries.
Play hard, hope for a win. What else is there right now?
We will objectively discuss it tonight from 7-9 following the post game.
A different kind of season, no doubt...

The Joy of Football...

Certainly not the sort of NFL season that we were expecting. Don't really see it getting a whole lot better either. Who would have that that the Colts would still be looking for their first win going into week four? Life without Manning-not very pretty. Guess we can just look at this as a wake up call...
We will have plenty of time to discuss it Sunday from Noon-2PM as Matt Hicks and I lead you up to week four in the NFL. At least IU, Purdue and Ball State had a good day on Saturday...sometimes football doesn't really bring you much joy...

Defining Moment?

Maybe. Beating the Browns on Sunday in their home opener won't define the season...but losing the game may very well be the "defining moment" for this Colts team. Lose and I believe that it could become a downward spiral. Win and then you get ready for a home primetime game against the Steelers. That game will define this team.
It shouldn't come this soon, and I'm not sure that alot of us want to see the reality of it...but we will, one way or another.
Matt Hicks and I will talk about it Sunday night, 7-9, right here on 1070thefan.

The Season...

Life without Peyton...it starts today. No reason to be pessimistic yet, let's see how things shake out. If the offense can give Collins time and if they can run the ball effectively, and if the defense can makes some stops and get off the field...they will be okay.
Those are some fairly significant "ifs". We shall see. Either way, no reason to give up on the season before it even begins.
Matt Hicks and I will be on at 7pm to talk about it. See you then.

The Weekend

The Colts cut their roster to 53 but I don't think that they are done making moves just yet. One week until it counts, will we see Manning or Collins in Houston?
Notre Dame fell flat on their face, Purdue squeaked it out, and the least that I expected from IU was that they would show up and play football...they didn't. Ball State did and once again beat their little brothers to the south. Congratulations to them.
The Indycar series takes to the streets of Baltimore later today, should be an intriguing inaugural race.
We will talk football, take your calls, and have some fun on this holiday weekend.
The Jersey Johnny Show, Noon-2pm, Sunday.
239-1070 gets you through.
