INDIANAPOLIS – A red No. 12 jersey was spotted on the West 56th street indoor practice field on Wednesday.

That’s a first in 2017.

Andrew Luck made his 2017 practice debut on Wednesday afternoon.

Head coach Chuck Pagano explained the Luck practice plan during the quarterback's first week back to work.

“He will warmup with the quarterbacks during stretching and then he’ll do individual (work) with the quarterbacks and then he’ll do some routes versus air, before going back with the (athletic) trainers to continue his rehab,” Pagano said of Luck’s schedule on Wednesday.

The quarterback will not practice on Thursday, instead rehabbing with trainers, before jumping back into the individual part of practice on Friday.

With no scout team work scheduled for this week, it’s looking more and more like Luck will be out until at least Week Seven (Oct. 22 vs. Jaguars).

“There’s a pitch count and a number we will keep an eye on,” Pagano said of Luck’s re-entry into practice. “We’ve got it scripted exactly how many throws he’ll have and then what routes he’ll throw based on each day, depth of routes, inside breaking routes, outside the numbers throws, deep throws down the field, that kind of thing.

“We’ll look at it, evaluate every one of them and just take it one day at a time.”

INJURY REPORT

Here is Wednesday’s injury report:

DNP: S-Matthias Farley (quad), CB-Nate Hairston (quad), WR-Chester Rogers (hamstring)

-Bowen’s Analysis: Both Farley and Hairston played the entire game in Seattle. A setback in mid-September has kept Rogers sidelined for quite some time now. We haven’t seen Rogers in a game since early in the preseason.

LIMITED: TE-Jack Doyle (concussion), QB-Andrew Luck (right shoulder), CB-Rashaan Melvin (hamstring/ankle), CB-Quincy Wilson (knee)

-Bowen’s Analysis: Doyle is in a red jersey after suffering from concussion-like symptoms late in Sunday night’s game. The Luck update is above. Wednesday was Wilson’s first time on the practice field in two weeks. The Colts expect Wilson to be ready to play in Week Five. Mack has missed the last two games, but did practice last week.

FULL: C-Ryan Kelly (shoulder), RB-Marlon Mack (shoulder), CB-Chris Milton (hamstring), ILB-Anthony Walker (hamstring)

-Bowen’s Analysis: Look for Kelly to make his 2017 debut on Sunday. Mack is expected to be ready to go after he was in a red non-contact jersey last week. Milton has battled a hamstring injury in recent weeks. Fellow rookie Anthony Walker has been sidelined since the regular season opener.

Here is a look at what Andrew Luck did in front of the media at Friday's practice.
After the first quarter of the 2017 season, the 1-3 Colts face some much-needed changes on both sides of the ball.
One of the clear changes that has to take place for the Pacers in 2017-18 comes from last year's team chemistry.
Coming into 2017-18, the Pacers viewed Glenn Robinson III as a potential breakout player. How will GRIII’s left ankle injury hinder that hope?
