I go out of my way to talk to veterans. It's the least that I can do. I respect them, appreciate their service, especially those old timers that fought for us in World War II.
I was in a store last week with a guy that I work with on my day job. I saw an older gentleman wearing a WWII Army Air Corp ball cap at the check out line. I waited outside the store to have a word with him, thank him for his service, ask where he served, what he did.
He came out of the store and I went over to him and got his attention, shook his hand, talked to him for a few minutes. He served on a bomber, flew close to thirty missions, proudly spoke to me about what he did, his crew, his plane...how they went about their business of winning a ...
