Cincinnati Reds Preview

In 2010, the Reds won the NL Central over the favorite Cardinals.  Last year, Cincinnati was arguably the biggest disappointment in all of baseball.  Many picked the Reds to return to the postseason, but failed to live up to expectations in 2011.  They look to change that in 2012.

Last year the Reds finished 12 games behind first place Milwaukee, but they have made a flurry of offseason acquisitions and have a ton of talent returning.  There has been a ton of positives surrounding Dusty Baker’s team this spring, but one thing that has disappointed fans lately are a couple of unexpected injuries. 

Right-handed closer Ryan Madson, brought in from the Phillies after saving 32 games in 34 chances, had a sore elbow and will undergo ligament-replacement surgery that's already shelved him for the entire 2012 campaign.
