Tony Dungy's Monday media briefing is attached in 2 parts. Part 3 is Pacers coach Jim O'Brien after practice today (Monday).
COLTS
Notes from Monday's Tony Dungy press gathering...
Dungy's session includes several rules explanations from yesterday's game, his confusion over how after 4th and inches when the Colts failed, the ball moved past the 1 yard line when Cleveland took over, and confirmation that Keiwan Ratliff was supposed to call a fair catch at the end of the first half. That would have allowed a free kick - a FG try with no defense. Since there is no defense, the ball could be spotted at the line of scrimmage (which would have been the Browns 48), so it would have been possible (although difficult) to hit a 58 yarder (normally it would be about 66 yards).

COLTS
Assorted notes from Tony Dungy's Wednesday media session:
It appears that Bob Sanders will miss his 3rd straight game because of a sore knee. Tony Dungy said today that his sense was Sanders would be listed as doubtful right now. The official injury report doesn't specify the chance to play until Friday. Dungy said Sanders might try to practice later in the week, but didn't sound very optimistic. He also confirmed that Sanders has not had surgery and doesn't believe it's in the plans. They are simply waiting for improvement in the knee.
As previously stated, Jeff Saturday will probably miss 3-4 weeks with a left calf strain, but everyone else that played Sunday should be available Sunday in Cleveland.
Dungy said the defensive coaches had to spend a little extra time today to look at film of Derek Anderson, who will start at quarterback for the Browns. On ...

COLTS
The Colts players are off again today (Tuesday). They begin work tomorrow on Sunday's game at Cleveland. They won't have C Jeff Saturday. He suffered a strained left calf in the 2nd quarter Sunday night and did not return. Tony Dungy said it's similar to an injury that he suffered against Detroit on Thanksgiving in 2004 that caused him to miss two games. On his radio show Monday night, Colts president Bill Polian said that Saturday would likely miss 3-4 weeks.
Polian also said that OG Ryan Lilja will not play this season. Today (Tuesday) was the deadline to add him to the active roster from the PUP list, but Lilja will have another surgery to address his knee.
Dungy said there were no other serious injuries from the Chargers game. There were a few minor injuries, but nothing unusual and everyone finished the game.
He offered no opinion ...

7pm update:
Bill Polian said on his Monday night radio show that Jeff Saturday will likely miss 3-4 weeks because of his calf strain. He also said that OG Ryan Lilja would not play this season. Tomorrow (Tuesday) was the deadline to activate Lilja, but he will remain inactive and will have another surgery on the knee that was surgically repaired in the offseason.

Injury update:
C Jeff Saturday suffered a strained left calf in the 2nd quarter last night and did not return. Tony Dungy said it's similar to an injury that he suffered against Detroit on Thanksgiving in 2004 that caused him to miss two games. Dungy hopes this won't be as long, but didn't have any idea at this point. By the way, those two games missed for Saturday in '04, were the only two he had missed before this season, since he became a full-time ...

PACERS
Tonight the Pacers (5-5) try to get back above .500 when they host Orlando. The Magic are 8-3 after an 0-2 start and have won their last 4. They are 3-1 on the road.
While Boston, Detroit and Cleveland are considered by most to be the three teams that will battle for Eastern Conference supremancy, Orlando may be next and could also stay in the mix at the top of the conference. Dwight Howard remains one of the league's most impressive forces (21 pts, 13.5 rbds, 4 blocks per game) and he's surrounded by 3 point shooters. Hedo Turkoglu (17.9) and Rashard Lewis (17.0) both average over 17 points per game.
SG Mickael Pietrus averages nearly 15 points per game and is expected to play tonight after sitting out Tuesday night's game against the Toronto Raptors with bruised ribs.
J.J. Redick got some rare run on Tuesday, filling ...
