Big Ten, Butler and Giving Back.....

GOOD WEEKEND IN INDY –
Had a great time Friday night at the Indiana Sports Corp.’s BIG TEN BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT gala at Ruth’s Chris on the northside….Got to hang with Boiler legends Gene Keady and Ralph Taylor as the ISC helped build up interest in the men’s and women’s tournaments coming to town….
Larrry Griggers, a super guy who happens to own both Ruth’s Chris in town, was our host and wow did they do a great job with a wine-testing cocktail hour and then dinner…..Both Coach Keady and Ralph think Purdue will make it to the Final Four, and I agree….two of Izod Indy Car’s big shots (Jeff Belskis and Brian Barnhart) were in attendance but for different reasons….. – Brian as part of the ISC gala, and Jeff was having dinner with his lovely wife…..
Ruth’s Chris northside is quite a place; movers and shakers all ...
From Bootyism to Buddhism - TIGER WOODS.

OK, so El Tigre has spoken.
You good? Can we go back to watching the Olympics? Or, go back to doing whatever it is we do?
It’s amazing….the world stopped for Tiger to deliver his 20-minute speech (and, make no mistake, it was a nice, well written speech). Not an apology. But, a speech. They showed it live in Times Square. Wall Street literally stopped to hear this 34-year old Stanford grad speak. Those guys at IMG did a nice job; who writes these speeches?
Everyone will now chime in on how “IT” went. Did he do good? Bad? Truthful or is he a sneak? He convinced us he was one way for 15 years; did he convince us he is another way Friday?
I think he is hurt. Big time hurt. Hurt that his reputation is shot. But I also think he came across as a stiff robot in ...
The Olympic Games from Canada

OLYMPIC THOUGHTS – Are you watching the Olympics? Into it? If so or if NOT, call us…Would love to get a gauge on what people think…I really liked the Opening Ceremonies on Friday (and I guess so did Canada – it was the most watched program EVER on Canadian TV)…I miss Jim McKay on the Olympics…Memo to Indy Super Bowl Task Force: Look what they’ve written about Vancouver and we’ve only been through three days: “Death, destruction, Police with assault rifles, miserable weather...” Yepper, the media can be harsh in judgment of a city and its big events…..
These games will always be remembered for the loss of life of the Georgian luger….The IOC says the track was NOT to blame…Then why did they change the track?....If it was safe then they should have kept everything the same….If it was the track’s fault, was it fully inspected afterwards?....Also is Canada ...
WHAT A FINISH - COLTS SEASON OVER

WHAT A FINISH - WHO SAW THIS COMING???????
On ESPN all pre game they talked about this game being “WHO-DAT vs. WHOOSIERS”…at the end of Sunday night it was SAINTS ALL DAT!!!...shocking finish in Super Bowl 44….Maybe the Colts should have worn white (remember the Colts have NEVER won a Super Bowl in Miami wearing blue; they had a choice and picked blue)….Ironic that one old Boilermaker QB and SB champ LEN DAWSON was the honorary Lombardi Trophy presenter and gave it to another old Boilermaker QB and NOW SB champ Drew Brees…..Brees was a deserving MVP….Also history shows that an ex-Indiana State COACH (Sean Payton), an ex-Purdue QB (Brees) and two ex-IU Hoosiers (Porter and Roby) beat a Colts team led by N’awlins natives Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne..geez….SHOCKER… Who saw this coming??…..I dunno….Even Jeff Saturday said after the game he was in shock and never saw this happening…..Biggest ...
WHAT A WEEK
Posted 2/6/2010 12:19:00 AM
What a week we had in Florida. It was a blast doing the show from the NFL Media Center in Fort Lauderdale. We loved providing eight uninterupted hours EACH day of exclusive Super Bowl coverage for Colts fans.
Hopefully you caught the shows with Dan Dakich doing an extra hour at the end of his regular stint and we coming on an extra hour early.
We were so lucky to secure some awesome guests - from Don Shula and Bob Griese to Jim McMahon, Barry Sanders, Mike Tirico and Marshall Faulk to Mike Ditka, Mike Golic, Archie Manning, Rod Woodson and Dara Torres to Nick Faldo, Tony Siragusa, Tiki Barber AND Chris Rock and David Spade!!!!! If you missed any of them check out the podcasts at 1070thefan.com.....especially Chris Rock talking about the Pacers!!!!
We had a nice mix of fun and craziness and some solid inside info. ...
