From autosport.com:

Veach made his first two IndyCar starts in 2017, subbing for the injured JR Hildebrand at Ed Carpenter Racing at Barber Motorsports Park, and then making his Indy 500 debut in a third AJ Foyt Racing car.

The 22-year-old will now reunite with Andretti after the team ran him in USF2000 and Indy Lights between 2011 and '14, culminating in third in the Indy Lights championship.

Veach's deal means he will join Ryan Hunter-Reay, Marco Andretti and Alexander Rossi in Andretti's line-up next year.

Andretti had to wait to confirm its engine partner for 2018 before finalising its driver line-up, leading to Rossi quickly re-signing.

But despite Honda remaining onboard, Sato will leave for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, leading to Veach's opportunity.

Veach, 22, will now reunite with Andretti after the team ran him in USF2000 and Indy Lights between 2011 and '14, culminating in third in the Indy Lights championship.

Michael Andretti was unavailable for comment on Veach when asked by Autosport, but it is understood the deal will be confirmed over the season finale weekend at Sonoma.
