The Chicago Cubs held off the Washington Nationals 2-1 in a sloppy Game 3 of the National League Division Series.
In a game where the Cubs committed four errors, including two on the same play by Kyle Schwarber in the seventh inning which led to Washington's only run, the defending World Series champions were able to find a way to win.
Chicago found themselves down 1-0 and being no-hit by Max Scherzer heading into the bottom of the seventh inning before Ben Zobrist knocked a double into left-center field. Nationals Manager Dusty Baker pulled Max Scherzer after giving up one hit, and Chicago's Albert Almora Jr. singled into center field to score Zobrist and tie the game.
Anthony Rizzo stepped to the plate in the bottom of the eighth inning with Leonys Martin on second base after a sacrifice bunt from Jon Jay, and with two outs, Rizzo blooped a single into shallow center field to score the go-ahead run.
Tonight, the Cubs will send Jake Arrieta to the mound to face Tanner Roark with a third consecutive trip to the National League Championship Series on the line. First pitch is set for 5:38 ET at Wrigley Field.
