Purdue basketball is a top-five team again after jumping eight spots in this week's Associated Press poll.

The Boilermakers are tied for No. 5 with Wichita State, one spot behind Big Ten Conference rival Michigan State.

Purdue has not been ranked this high since it was ranked No. 3 in the last poll of February 2010. Their votes ranged from No. 2 to No. 16.

Villanova resumed the No. 1 spot in the AP poll, followed by West Virginia and Virginia. Michigan State had been No. 1 prior to its loss to Ohio State on Sunday.

Purdue also jumped up to No. 7  in the USA Today Coaches Poll, which is a five-spot rise from last week. The top four teams mirrored the AP poll, with Wichita State at No. 5 and Duke at No. 6.

No other Big Ten Conference teams are currently ranked in either poll. Purdue travels to Michigan on Tuesday and Minnesota on Saturday.

Purdue peaked at No. 9 in the 2015-16 AP polls and No. 13 last season.
