We now have a race to talk about in the IZOD IndyCar Series!  And there's plenty to discuss:  season opener outside of US, a new event and venue, cancellation of quals because of a poor racing surface and the solution for race day, a first-turn melee, a red flag because of a rain storm, and most importantly - multiple passes on track for the lead late in the race.  The winner of the Sau Paulo Indy 300, Will Power, is scheduled to join us.  

We'll also celebrate, as Jeff at MyNameisIRL noted, the ended of another long national nightmare - the return of Versus to those of us with DirecTV.  Along with the other items that come up, we may revisit some of Randy Bernard and Brian Barnhart's comments from last week's show.  

We're only scheduling one guest tonight so we can (hopefully) get through quite a few emails and ...

Meet Cavin & Kevin

Curt CavinCurt Cavin is one of the most respected and most read motor sports journalists in the country. He has covered racing and the Indianapolis 500 for more than 20 years. His Friday “Pit Pass” column in the Indianapolis Star (daily in May) is a must-read for race fans, and the Q&A blog he created has drawn national acclaim. He has been the motor sports expert for Indianapolis’ top-rated television station, WTHR-13, since 2001. He is the man behind the seat-counting story at Indianapolis Motor Speedway that drew national attention in 2004.

Kevin LeeKevin Lee has served as a pit reporter or turn announcer for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network's coverage of the Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400, United States Grand Prix and Red Bull Indianapolis GP since 2001 and also works on the IMS public address team. He has been a pit reporter or turn announcer for the IndyCar Series since 2004. Lee is also the pit reporter for Versus' coverage of Firestone Indy Lights and has worked as a fill-in pit reporter for Versus' coverage of the IndyCar Series. Lee covered the 500 and other events at IMS for WIBC (1070-AM) from 1993-2007 and now is a contributor for 1070 The Fan (WFNI) and also broadcasts for the Indiana Pacers' and Indianapolis Colts' radio networks.
