Cavin & Kevin pick THEIR Greatest 33

Fans selected their dream lineup of the 33 greatest drivers in Indianapolis 500 history from March 18-May 14 at TheGreatest33.com. The top 33 drivers in the balloting were revealed yesterday (Sunday, May 15.)

Many of the choices were obvious while the final 10 or so are open to wide debate.  Many of us will also disagree with a few of the fans choices.

We’ll discuss tonight (Monday, May 16) on Trackside at 7:00 Eastern.

Below is the list chosen by the fans, followed by the picks by the hosts (Curt Cavin and Kevin Lee).

My 1st alternate is Sam Hanks.  Among others I strongly considered were Jimmy Murphy, Bill Cummings, Scott Goodyear, Lloyd Ruby, Buddy Lazier, Mark Donohue and Jules Goux (among others).

Notes:  Curt and I agreed on 29.  While he chose Goodyear, Montoya, Lloyd Ruby, and Jimmy Murphy.  I included Johncock, Wheldon, Dixon, Kanaan.  

Neither of us included Mark Donohue, Ray Harroun, Danny Sullivan, Graham Hill, Dan Gurney or Tony Bettenhausen.

We’ll explain why tonight on Trackside, 7-8pm on 1070 The Fan.
