Tony D catches up with Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s Silver Medal Award Recipient Coach Bob Lovell

 

CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Coach Bob Lovell. Bob Lovell has been named as the recipient of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s Silver Medal Award, which also includes induction into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame this March. Bob played at Plainfield High School, then Franklin College. Following that, he spent 18 years in college coaching and administration with Franklin College and then IUPUI, but has spent the past 23 years hosting Network Indiana’s Indiana Sports Talk. All of these factors played a part in Bob receiving this honor, including the role the show has played in high school sports over the last two decades plus. Bob has been a wonderful ambassador for high school athletics in the state, and the most recognized voice on our network since the mid-1990s.

 

Tony D caught up with Coach today to reflect on the beginnings of Indiana Sports Talk and what the honor means to him:
