INDIANAPOLIS – Jon Bostic even playing football last year was a pretty good accomplishment.

Before Week 1 of 2017, Bostic had last played football in December of 2015.

A serious foot injury in the 2016 preseason took the former second-round pick off the field for that entire season.

The Colts took a chance on Bostic last offseason and he ended up starting 14 games for them as their main defensive communicator.

Bostic, 26, showed last year he could play again in the NFL.

In Indianapolis, there’s a lot of turnover expected among the linebacker group.

How does Bostic transition to a 4-3 scheme as the Colts definitely need to upgrade their linebacker position?

Bostic does have 32 starts in 4 playing NFL seasons, experience that far exceeds anything else the Colts have at inside linebacker.

Percent I’d Bring Bostic Back: 40

-With Matt Eberflus implementing a 4-3 defense with the Colts, there’s a major calling for new linebackers. That especially holds true in the middle of that unit. Jon Bostic was serviceable last season, but if the Colts have a chance to significantly upgrade that position, they must go full steam ahead. The name Anthony Hitchens from Dallas continues to come up as a realistic free agent candidate for the Colts. Bringing Bostic back to compete for a depth spot at linebacker could be in the cards. But a new starter is needed in the center of this defense.

The 2018 Colts have undergone a substantial scheme change defensively, but the level of accountability has also increased under coordinator Matt Eberflus.
