Cubs Acquire Daniel Murphy From The Nationals

The Chicago Cubs announced they required Washington Nationals infielder Daniel Murphy on Tuesday afternoon.

Murphy  has only played 56 games this season but has been solid during his time on the field. He currently holds a .300 batting average with six homeruns and 29 RBIs.

He's probably best known for his damage done against the Cubs in the 2015 NLCS where he hit a scorching .529 in the four-game sweep and mashed four homeruns.

It was basically an automatic non-out against Chicago in that series.

Cubs fans can only hope he can do half of that work down the stretch and come this postseason.
