"Purdue’s Carsen Edwards is returning for his junior season, according to head coach Matt Painter.

Edwards paced Purdue in scoring with 18.5 points/game in 2017-18, leading the Boilermakers to a spot in the Sweet Sixteen, where the team lost to Texas Tech.

Edwards declared for the NBA Draft shortly after the season ended, but will now withdraw to retain his college eligibility.

The deadline to withdraw is Wednesday night at 11:59.

Purdue’s Nojel Eastern also entered his name in the draft after the season. His announcement is expected by Wednesday evening."

Matt Painter couldn't have gotten better news after losing one of his strongest senior classes ever to graduation.

Edwards was an All-American as a sophomore, and for a while during the Boilers 19-game winning streak there was even talks of him being up for the Naismith Player of the Year Award.

2018-2019 will be different for C-Boogie without Haas, Vince Edwards, Dakota Mathias, and PJ Thompson surrounding him. He is officially the guy moving forward for Purdue.
